A student reflects on the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic
Aileen Soria
Every morning when I wake up I think it is a bad dream and it’s late to get dressed, but it is real. This does not end.
I suffer knowing that perhaps I will not see my teachers and friends again. Anxious without knowing if I will get coronavirus.
I think it is time to take care of my body. This includes, deep breaths, stretching, meditation, exercising, and getting enough sleep. Actually music is helping to me and avoid stay tuned on the news.
Several people discussed how they take care of themself during this time of the coronavirus pandemic.
Oakland High School teacher Carmen Mandic said that she talks with her family on the computer, by FaceTime with her friends. She loves to exercise like walking and stretching, and gets enough sleep. Most important, she just takes it day-by-day, tries not to worry too much, and prays.
Maria Soria, a mother of two students, said she takes care of herself cleaning her home, talking with friends and family by FaceTime and reading books or watching new movies.
Austin Josmar S. a student at Merritt College, said he loves playing video games online with friends, doing homework or watching documentaries on TV.
In this hard time it is good advice to talk with friends and family, exercise, and get enough sleep.
