Glee Club is a well-known club and full of talented students at Oakland High School. The Winter Showcase was a success for the past decade, according to director Amy Dellefield, a social studies teacher. This year it is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 15. The play will be held in the lower theater at 6:30 p.m.
This year’s showcase will be “A Charlie Brown Christmas” sequel–an original performance by Oakland High students that was written by junior Trinity Chau and senior Anna Tran.
Students are working hard every day after school practicing their choreography moves, vocals, and remembering the script, according to dancer Christine Nguyen, freshmen.
“I am stoked for the Glee showcase this year,” said singer Josephine Luong, a senior. “I have been practicing my vocals every night.”
The costume designers are trying their best to mimic the outfits that are worn in the short Charlie Brown film.
“Auditions were during October, and members who were in previous showcases still had to audition again for dance and singing,” said Dellefield. “So everyone can have a fair chance.”
“I am part of Glee because I get to show off my talent,” said dancer Victoria Insalyvanh, a senior. “I love performing in front of people.”
Tickets will be sold for $5 in the commons starting Dec. 4 during lunch. The price of the tickets will be higher at the door, said Tran.
