Friday nights at home can be a relaxing, comforting time for most people. But a greater way to spend your Friday night can be going to the Oakland Museum! Every Friday night from 5 – 9 p.m., Off the Grid food trucks set up outside of OMCA, according to the museum’s website.
The Off the Grid food trucks have a huge food ethnic variety, from Korean-Japanese fusion at KoJa Kitchen, to Indian street food at Curry Up Now, to a deep-fried bacon inspired truck, called Bacon Bacon.
With all the indulgent, savory foods, there is still always room for a sweet dessert! Off the Grid food trucks also include many treats ranging from “super-premium frozen desserts” at Lexie’s Frozen Custard, to Belgian waffles at Golden Waffle, to the popular phenomenon Pacific Puffs.
The whole idea of food trucks is already enticing, and to contribute to that, there’s live music and more! Many people go to the Oakland Museum for a fun, relaxing date filled with excitement and a lot dancing. But there is so much more offered!
As well as live music, DJs, and family-friendly dance lessons, with different musical themes weekly, the Oakland Museum features free hands-on art workshops for all ages every Friday night from 5 – 8 p.m.
“It was a pretty good experience, and there was a lot of good food,” said freshman Rodolfo Sanchez. “The music was nice, and I saw many other people have fun, dance, and I felt calm, and had a great time.”
With all these exciting, fun activities for kids, there’s still room for the adults to have a great time! The Oakland Museum also holds the Makers & Tasters Series with local beer brewers, coffee roasters, organic farmers, and authors hosting talks, demos, and tastings on the first and last Friday of every month from 6 – 8 p.m., according to the Oakland Museum’s website.
“The foods were so great and savory,” said Tony Zhang, a freshman. “It was very entertaining to watch people dance, and the music was upbeat and fun.”
Friday nights at the Oakland Museum are great for any occasion. For a fun time with your family, lover, or friends, the Oakland Museum is a wonderful way to go. With the huge list of food trucks, music themes, featured artists, and lots of dancing, spend your Friday night at the Oakland Museum.
