A former Oakland High student has been arrested on suspicion of committing a triple homicide and quadruple attempted murder in San Leandro in early October.

Paul Arthur Stevenson III attended Oakland High in 2010; however, he did not graduate from the school.

According to an article from the San Jose Mercury News, two gunmen approached a Ford Explorer at an Industrial Park and opened fire on October 02, 2011. Three people were killed, and three others were wounded.

Stevenson immediately surrendered when police and a SWAT team came to his home. Police have not yet released a motive for the shooting and are still looking for one other suspect. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Stevenson has a prior criminal record and now faces three counts of murder, four counts of attempted murder, and possible other charges. If convicted, he could face the death penalty.

Stevenson’s former teachers at Oakland High didn’t want to comment due to the severity of the topic.
