Students cannot wait for the start of Homecoming Week, October 31 through November 5.
The Leadership class, led by teacher Amy Dellefield, plans all the events that will go down during Homecoming Week. Students will get to participate in five days of activities, followed by the big rival football game against McClymonds on November 5.
“Compared to last year homecoming this year should be a lot better than last year,” said senior Malcolm Davis. “I like our theme this year: ‘Futuristic.’ It kind of says that we as seniors are the future.”
A visitor to the popular Leadership class saw all students working hard to plan a week of events based around the theme.
Homecoming Week starts on Halloween. Students are encouraged to dress according to the day’s theme.
“Every day of the week you will have a theme to dress up for,” said Lanaya Lewis, a senior in Leadership class.
Students like Davis can’t wait to get started and they wish that they could have a spirit theme for every day of the year.
“When we talk about the future, many students seem to not understand that we are the future,” said senior Joel Relgado. “They should be proud of the theme and should get ready to enjoy Homecoming Week.”
“It’s just the best time of the year,” says Ken Tran, a senior.
