“Healthy” drink loaded with sugar
Vitamin Water is an artificially enhanced flavored water with vitamins. Many versions of the drink include sugar, but students still consume these beverages thinking they’re healthy.
Every day, many students head for the closest corner store to buy a quick drink; sometimes it’s beverages such as soda or sugary drinks, other times it’s an artificially flavored water drink that misleads customers into thinking it’s nutritious.
“I don’t care if its not good for me” said junior Nathan Ung. “I just like the taste.”
Vitamin Water is made by a company called Glaceau, which is a sub brand of Coca-Cola. In 1998 the company added the Vitamin Water brand. In 2002, Vitamin Water became the brand’s top-selling product.
Hopefully now that students are aware of Vitamin Water and how it isn’t nutritious at all, they will stop purchasing these drinks and get better more healthier substitute beverages.
