Ms. Lehman is in her third year at Oakland High School teaching Physiology and Biology.
Before working at Oakland High she was working for the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). She worked as an employee testing out nutrients in her lab.
She loves teaching science classes.
“It’s the best!” she said, “It’s beyond fun! It’s fun because you get to do hands-on activities.”
Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Ms. Lehman has had a very exciting life. The biggest impact on her was growing up in Hawaii. She graduated from Kalani High School in Honolulu.
Ms. Lehman said she moved to the Bay Area because she has family here.
Ms. Lehman said that he is glad that a lot of her students end up getting health science degrees and careers.
She says that she has positive relationships with her students. She motivates her students with her enthusiasm.
“The best thing about teaching is that you don’t have to look at the time—it goes by fast!” said Ms. Lehman. “The worst thing is that you get no respect from the public and the community.”
