BuildOn used to be known as Building with Books, but they changed their club name to make their purpose more clear. Many people had thought it was a book club and it’s not; BuildOn builds schools in developing countries.
BuildOn members travel to developing countries every summer to help provide buildings for education. Build On has built schools in many countries in Africa, Mexico, and many more places.
Traveling isn’t all that they do; they also help non-profit organizations or just help clean up our city.
“I like enjoying the environment, like parks and shorelines,” said Annie C, senior and BuildOn club president. “Planting plants and taking out dangerous species”.
On February 21, 2009, members of BuildOn cleaned up Lake Merritt, providing cleaner cages and water for birds and removing garbage that may be harmful for the animals that live there.
The Aegis staff congratulates BuildOn: Your club is the Club of the Month of March!
