Oakland High School teachers and substitutes joined a one-day, district-wide strike on Thursday, April 29.
According to the teachers’ union, the Oakland Education Association, teachers want to preserve class size limits, support adult education, and defend teacher pay and benefits.
The Oakland Unified school district says that it lacks the funds to meet the teachers’ requests.
